Jaipur's COVID drive witnesses an improvement; 32 new vaccination sites added by Health department

In a bid to boost the coronavirus inoculation drive in Jaipur, the health department has scaled up the number of vaccination sites across the city. A demand by nursing homes and private hospitals in the city was met by the district authorities, who increased the number of vaccination sites by 32 in just 24 hours, boosting the overall pace of the covid immunisation drive in the Pink City. About 4,425 healthcare workers got the vaccine jab across the 87 vaccination sites in Jaipur.

Rajasthan's Health Department conducts dry run of COVID-19 vaccine to ensure zero casualty

The first day of the year kept the Rajasthan health department officials on their toes as preparations for the dry run of the COVID-19 vaccine in the state, commenced in full swing. On Saturday, the concerned department conducted a trial of the vaccine at 19 centres in 7 districts of the state, as per the Centre's immunization protocol. Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Government Hospital to study the mutant strain of the coronavirus

The mutant strain of the coronavirus, which was just recently reported in Britain, will now be studied at Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Government Hospital, with genetic sequencing and testing of the spike protein. SMS Hospital, which has been conducting approximately 6,000 RT-PCR on a regular basis, is currently developing this study facility at its microbiology laboratory.

In order to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus, Rajasthan government has taken up several measures, including, the promotion of awareness campaigns, educating the masses about the virus and imposing fines on several circumstances. Additionally, the state has also set night curfew in motion in 13 districts, including the capital city, till December 31 and Section 144 has been enforced in Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara, Udaipur, Sikar, Pali and Nagaur, till December 20. The authorities have further chalked out a list of instances for the citizens and visitors, where they will be required to pay a penalty for flouting the laws.
