In another groundbreaking initiative for sustainability, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has finalized the tender for a ‘Solid waste to Steam plant’, boasting a capacity of converting 300 tons of waste into steam per day, for cheaper electricity. This new plant will come up on 5 acre land at the Pirana waste dumping site.
GMRC to issue special metro tickets in Ahmedabad for IPL matchdays
Just like last year, the GMRC has decided to issue special metro tickets to commuters on IPL matchdays in Ahmedabad. With this new ticket, priced at ₹50, one can travel from Motera stadium station and the Sabarmati station to any of the operational metro stations in Ahmedabad. Notably, GMRC has also extended metro timings in Ahmedabad on IPL matchdays, which will be 6:20 AM to 12 midnight.
Traffic diversions issued for IPL match in Ahmedabad on March 31
Ahead of the IPL match in Ahmedabad on March 31, traffic diversions have been issued by the traffic department. For this day game between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad, the diversions will be in place from 11 AM to 10 PM. Notably, the stretch from Janpath T Junction to the Motera metro station and to Krupa Residency will be complete shut for traffic.
Motera metro station to get linked directly to Ahmedabad airport
The GMRC is planning a dedicate route for Ahmedabad metro which will connect directly to the airport. By branching-off the Motera-Koteshwar corridor, Ahmedabad metro will be connected directly to the airport but the commuters will have to change trains.
Those travelling from Thaltej and Vastral will have to change the trains twice while those commuting from GIFT city will have to do that thrice.
