The High Court on Monday, acceded to a plea of the Goa government, granting entry to all fully vaccinated tourists and travellers into the state without a negative COVID report. Until now, this provision was not available for visitors, who had to produce a negative certificate irrespective of their vaccination status.
New norms for visitors arriving in Goa
Earlier in mid-July, the HC had partly allowed travellers, except for tourists, to enter the state without a negative COVID report, if they were fully vaccinated. On Monday, however, the Court revised its order to extend the scope of this provision to tourists as well.
As per the verdict, all visitors who have received the second shot jab, at least 14 days ago, can enter the state without a negative COVID RT-PCR certificate or a rapid antigen test report.
It may be noted that the negative report norm still stands true for children over 2 years of age. Children below the age of 2 years are not bound by any test restrictions, read reports. Only symptomatic infants are required to produce a test report.
