The ongoing single-phase Goa Assembly Polls are pacing steadily, with a record 44.62% voter turnout by 1 PM today. As per reports, polling began at 7 AM in both state districts, across the 40 assembly constituencies here. Voting will extend until 6 PM today.

Goa Polls are witnessing enthusiastic support from the people. The turnout is rising significantly, with each hour, tracking up to 44.62% voting in by 1 PM, up from 26.63% at 11 AM. This stat was limited to 11.04% at 9 AM.
So far, the highest turnout has been marked in the Sanquelim Assembly Constituency of North Goa, with about 54% voting already done. Besides, the ACs of Priol, Quepem and Sanguem have completed over 50% polling.
According to the Election Commission reports, there are around 11 lakh eligible voters in Goa, including 9,590 persons with disabilities, 2,997 aged over 80 years, 41 sex workers and 9 transgenders. These people can cast their votes for the 301 candidates, in the fray for Goa Assembly Polls 2022. The election results will be announced on March 10.
