Amping up the electrical mobility infrastructure in the coastal state, Ather Energy has now set its foot in Goa. In line with the state’s agenda to promote e-vehicles in the state, the new store was set up on September 17, in association with Eveer Auto. This new showroom at Porvorim is expected to help the state government in its mission of making electric vehicles take up 30% of its total vehicle registrations, by 2025.

The state government has introduced Goa Electric Vehicle Promotion Policy to encourage electronic mobility in the state. Further, the government has also created a special electric vehicle (EV) cell in the territory. In addition, to this, incentives up to ₹30,000 for electronic vehicle buyers and exemptions from road tax and registration fees on the purchase of two-wheelers EV were also rolled out by the government. These facilities are meant to drive all operational commercial two-wheelers to shift to electronic vehicles by December 31, 2025.
Now, the latest establishment will help in fueling Goa’s journey towards its objective of sustainable development, Earlier this year, the EV manufacturer expanded its reach across multiple cities in India, including Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Trichy, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, Kozhikode, Indore, and Nashik.

BLive, the official EV Tourism partner of Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has also stepped forward with Ather Energy in this initiative. In a bid to push electric vehicle adoption, various charging resources are expected to come up across famous tourist places in India, starting with Goa.
Currently, BLive has established five charging stations for Ather Energy across the state, named ‘BLive EV Zones’. As per reports, 15 additional charging grids are expected to be set up at key areas across Goa, by the end of 2021. Notably, Ather Energy has already positioned two fast-charging points called Ather Grid, at Porvorim and Panjim. Additionally, the EV manufacturer plans on adding about 8 to10 extra charging points in the state’s charging network to ease the customer experience.
Given the scale of interventions, it can be expected that the dream of amplified electrical mobility will be realised in Goa soon. Besides being efficient and environmentally beneficial, this scheme also entails a string of benefits for the state residents.
