In a bid to converge the rising scale of dengue disease in Madhya Pradesh, the state government launched the ‘Dengue Se Jung Janta Ke Sang’ campaign on Wednesday. As the name suggests, the programme urges people’s participation to uphold prime sanitation standards to curb the rise of this mosquito-borne disease. Reportedly, special fogging drives will also be conducted across several districts in MP today, under the banner of this initiative.

Regular fumigation, larvae control, sanitation & water accumulation checks

After the perils of the second wave of the COVID pandemic, several districts in Madhya Pradesh, including Indore are now facing the surging scare of Dengue. With the caseload rising every day, the state government has launched the new ‘Dengue Se Jung Janta Ke Sang’ campaign, lest the rise of disease further impacts people across MP.

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has designated state authorities to make arrangements for limiting the risk and spread of dengue. He further said that the government will ensure fumigation, larvae destruction, sanitation, availability of medicines as well provisions for clean water. The CM also emphasised that the combat against dengue cannot be controlled without citizens’ support.

People across the state are advised to clear stagnant water in their vicinity in the next 7 to 10 days, to eliminate all mosquito breeding spots. They must also clean air coolers, tanks, pots, vases, old tires, useless containers, empty plots, and the likes, on a regular basis to avoid mosquito attacks.

Indore records 17 new dengue cases on Tuesday

Meanwhile. Indore’s dengue case tally climbed to the 139 mark, with the addition of 17 new cases in a single day, on Tuesday. This spike has raised several health concerns here, paving the way for the implementation of several safety measures. Further, the Indore Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. BS Sethia said, “The district administration is holding a larva survey and also conducting fumigation to kill the larva in the district.”

Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has symptoms like high fever, headache, rashes, nausea muscle, and joint pains. Some patients also suffer from body chills and shivering. Dengue symptoms typically last 2–7 days and most people recover after about a week.
