Aiming to mitigate the traffic woes in Indore, cable cars would be introduced across the crowded urban locations of the city. While the officials were deliberating over the plan for a long time, recent reports state that a consultant would be designated to conduct the viability investigation soon. Informing about this development on Monday, Divisional Commissioner stated that Indore Development Authority has allocated nearly ₹75 lakhs for this project.
Cable car route to be connected with metro routes
As per reports, the Divisional Commissioner also apprised that the new cable car routes will be connected to metro routes for better connectivity. While the initial budget amount has been announced, the total cost of the scheme will be deciphered only after the feasibility report is prepared. Additionally, the officials are also looking forward to the establishment of multiple flyovers in the city and the plans will be implemented for gauging the workability of these projects.
First Project of its kind in the nation!
As per reports, no project of a similar kind has been witnessed in any region of the country. With the execution of this scheme, the citizens of Indore will be the first in the nation, to be benefitted from this advanced development. Given the increasing burden on the city roads, as a direct consequence of inflating populations, interventions like these have become the need of the hour.
