Jaipur International Aiport was recently adjudged as the second-best out of the 13 airports, which witness a footfall of 20-50 lakh passengers every year. The evaluation and ranking procedure was conducted by the Airports Council International and was based on a wide range of more than 30 parameters.
Performance analysed for first quarter from Jan-March 2021
Notably, Goa Airport outperformed all other facilities, bagging the first spot in the survey. As per reports, the airports were gauged based on their performance in the first quarter of the year stretching from January to March 2021. Further, the ACI has also released Airport Service Awards for the year, wherein the airports were analysed by the customers on the basis of their experiences.
Reports state that the authorities were successful in collecting data points for the rankings despite the unstable circumstances of the pandemic. Amid the assessment, Jaipur Airport was followed by Calicut, Guwahati and Kolkata. While the initial count of airports was higher than 13, the plan could not be materialised due to multiple constraints.
Rankings delivered based a wide range of factors
As per reports, the conditions at the airports were examined on an expansive list of factors including cleanliness, waiting time for check-ins, the behavior of the staff, the comfort of the seating areas, screens for time table and a lot of other things. It is noteworthy that the Jaipur Airport had registered the 1st rank in 2017, in this survey. Thereafter, a number of infrastructural development initiative have been execyted at the facility.
