In the fiscal year 2023-24, the Central Railways (CR) achieved a revenue milestone. The authorities collected ₹300 crore from ticketless passengers and for unbooked luggage, surpassing its target by 12.80%. Per reports, such cases have increased by 8.38%, to 42.63 lakh, compared to other years.
Mumbai Division led the revenue parameter with ₹115.29 crore, from 20.56 lakh cases, followed by Bhusaval with ₹66.33 crore from 8.34 lakh cases. On the other hand, the Nagpur, Pune and Solapur divisions secured ₹34.52 crore, ₹34.74 crore, ₹28.15 crore, respectively. Additionally, the Headquarter Division secured a total of ₹20.96 crore.
Three inspectors from Mumbai, Sunil Nainani, M M Shinde, and Dharmendra Kumar, set a record by collecting ₹1 crore each. Nainani led with ₹1.92 crore from 20,117 cases, followed by Shinde and Kumar.
