IKEA's expansion in India takes an ambitious route; New outlets in store for 30 cities in 7 years

Swedish furniture giant, IKEA has set a pace for rapid expansion and growth in India to catch up with the delays marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent nationwide lockdown. With two prominent stores in Hyderabad and Navi Mumbai, and two in the pipeline for Noida and Bangalore, IKEA hopefully aims to have a presence in 30 Indian cities by the next 7 years. Besides them, the international brand is also viewing to start work on another store near Delhi and two smaller units in Mumbai in 2021.

UP government's latest MoU with IKEA to usher in huge investments!

The state government in Uttar Pradesh has been committed to initiatives aimed at garnering investments that can boost the industry and manufacturing. Expanding its plans, the Uttar Pradesh administration has entered into an agreement with IKEA, the global giant in the retail of furniture and home appliances. With a proposed investment of ₹ 5,500 crores to flow during the next 5 years, the world's largest dealer of furnishing is all set to establish its new centre in Noida.

IKEA Navi Mumbai opens its gates for the public; visitors' slots already full for the next 2 weeks

Global furniture giant, IKEA launched its second Indian store in Navi Mumbai, on December 18. Established over an expanse of over 5 lakh square meters on the Thane-Belapur Road, this store is IKEA's second Indian venture, after the Hyderabad store which opened in August 2018. In a bid to ensure a safe shopping experience for the customers, IKEA Navi Mumbai has mandated pre-booked slots via website registration and the number of in-store consumers has also been restricted.

IKEA's largest store in India to come up in UP's Noida; will also make way for new job opportunities!

IKEA is a Swedish giant that specialises in flat-packing furniture and other furnishing goods, which now plans on making it big in Uttar Pradesh. Reaching Uttar Pradesh's Noida to establish its biggest Indian store in a few weeks, this global brand has opened a gateway of employment opportunities in the state. In a statement issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, IKEA has planned to establish 12 outlets in the state by 2025, through a budget of ₹5,000 crores. The company aims to place itself in 40 cities in India by 2030.
