Folk artists in UP to get financial aid for purchasing musical instruments

The Directorate of Culture in Uttar Pradesh has announced a scheme called 'Lok Kalakar Vadya Yantra Kraya Yojana', in an attempt to provide monetary aid to folk artists. Under this initiative, folk musicians will be given financial support for purchasing musical instruments. A sum of ₹ 1 crore has been allotted to help the artists who have been hit hard by the pandemic and each eligible individual will be benefitted with a fund of up to ₹20,000.

Lucknow's Chikankari products are weaving in an average sale of 40k per day at ODOP expo

Within ten days, Uttar Pradesh's One District One Product (ODOP) exhibition at Dilli Haat, has sold items worth ₹35 lakhs. With 118 stalls showcasing UP's exclusive goods, the fair has witnessed a visible interest in chikankari products and consequentially, soaring sales, among visitors. This month-long exhibit in Delhi, which will end on September 15, has already seen a footfall of ten thousand people in the first ten days.

Schools in Lucknow to reopen from October 19 for classes 9-12th only

After a long gap of almost seven months, schools in Lucknow are all set to reopen. The Uttar Pradesh government has conditionally permitted the reopening of schools from October 19, for classes 9th to 12th only. These classes will be held under the advisory of the Centre's Home Ministry and the guidelines of the UP government. Students in 8th and below, will still have to stay home and attend classes online, until further notice.
