Smart Parking project to be implemented on Sindhu Bhavan Road

The escalating traffic issue in Ahmedabad has prompted the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to introduce a novel solution – smart parking. The pilot project has been initiated near Gotila Garden on Sindhu Bhavan Road, where drivers are required to park their vehicles in designated slots. Upon retrieval, the driver scans a QR code and completes an online payment for the duration the vehicle was parked.

If the pilot project proves successful, the AMC plans to roll out smart parking facilities at 40 locations, each accommodating up to 10 cars.

Mumbai to Ahmedabad train travel time to be reduced by 30 Minutes

Effective March, Vande Bharat and Shatabdi trains plying between Ahmedabad and Mumbai are expected to arrive 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The Western Railways' Mission Raftar aims to achieve speeds of up to 160 kmph through infrastructural enhancements, including track improvements, bridge upgrades, and the installation of advanced signaling and overhead equipment.

The ongoing upgrades are anticipated to be completed soon.

Flyovers planned for Panchavati and Panjrapol junctions

The state government has granted preliminary approval for the construction of two flyovers at Panjrapol and Panchvati junctions, as part of the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, with a designated budget of Rs 185.12 crore.

The Panjrapol junction flyover will originate from the Polytechnic and terminate at the Ahmedabad Management Association, supported by a sanctioned fund of Rs 86.94 crore. Concurrently, the proposed Panchvati junction flyover, receiving Rs 98.18 crore, will follow an L-shaped course from Radisson Blu hotel to Gita Rambhiya Circle via Panchvati Crossroads.

Ahmedabad City Police Sports Meet 2024 kicks off today

The 'Ahmedabad City Police Sports Meet-2024' is set to kick off at the J D Nagarwala Stadium at the Shahibaug police headquarters today. With a participation of over 1,500 police personnel, the event will showcase 11 teams competing in 13 different sporting disciplines.

The initiative aims to unearth and nurture sports talent within the Ahmedabad City Police, fostering increased interest and participation in sports.

Road behind Alpha One Mall will be inaccessible till 18th April

The municipal corporation's engineer department is undertaking water and sewer line work in the city, resulting in the closure of the road from Alpha One Mall in Bodakdev Ward to GMCD ground, spanning towards 132 feet ring in Vastrapur area.

The closure will last from February 19 to April 18, with a possibility of extension if drainage line installation continues beyond the deadline. Commuters are advised to plan alternate routes.
