Ranjeet Singh has got to be one of the most famous traffic cops in the country. No, he’s not known for his great work in the field, but rather, his quirky way of doing it. He is well recognized for moonwalking his way in between busy roads, all while diverting traffic left and right.

Ranjeet Singh’s goal is to make people abide by traffic rules. The moonwalk helps in doing his job, as people tend to stop and look at the unorthodox way he commits to his duty. He has been doing this for over a decade, because of which he has become something of an icon in Indore.

Gliding seamlessly across traffic, his attempt has actually had a beneficial impact on traffic in the city. He has also gone on to say that since he started out, traffic conditions have substantially improved. In fact, he has become so famous that universities are studying his method to see if it would be viable in other states.

Watch him in action here.

New and budding traffic cops in Indore have also begun taking a leaf out of Ranjeet Singh’s leaf. As for the superiors, initially, they were sceptical about his methods but after seeing the response and change in citizens, they gave him all the support. Infact, he even gives moonwalking lessons to new officers who join the force.

This is not even the most unique way Indore manages city traffic. There is also a giant robocop in the middle of an intersection. The robot is complete with cameras and LEDs and acts as a traffic light, shifting it’s arms about and managing traffic.
