Indore’s COVID graph has dipped steeply to record a rapidly lowering positivity rate. The positivity rate between June 11 to 17 was reported to be restricted below the 1% mark, denoting a control over the virus transmission and spread. Within a month, the city has managed to curb its infection tallis from 1,500 (on May 15) to fewer than 50, for 3 days in succession now.

COVID decline harnesses respite for Indore

A steadfast COVID decline in Indore has helped to lower the overall pandemic threat here. Data records highlight that the district has reported only 468 news infections in the past week (June 11 to June 17), which accounts for less than 1% positivity rate in view of the testing potential. As per reports, this tally was looming over the 2.2% meter in the first week of June with around 1,956 fresh cases.

The District Nodal Officer COVID-19 informed that Indore has been recording a consistent dip in the new case count since mid-March. In one month, the tallies dipped from 1,262 to 34, awarding the city its lowest weekly positivity rate since the coronavirus outbreak. The authority has appealed to the public to adhere to precautionary norms, protocols and guidelines to ensure the prevailing downward trajectory.

Indore’s testing and sampling potentials are inclining towards the upper scale, on par with the capacities of May. The average sampling count in a day is around 10,000, which is being picked up randomly from densely packed areas to possible hotspots in all zones and wards. Officials informed that this is helping the state to gauge the reality of the ground COVID situation.

COVID facility at Radha Soami Satsang to stand until December

The Indore district authorities have decided to continue the provisional COVID centre at the Radha Soami Satsang until December this year to tackle the expected third wave of coronavirus. As per reports, this temporary facility has played a major role in catering to timely medical attention to COVID patients during the second-wave peak here.

Of all patients admitted here, only 141 had to be shifted to hospitals, while its recovery yield is marked at a spectacular 94%. The centre was nursing around 3200 virus-infected patients until June 12, informed a member of the State Disaster Management Committee.

Besides clinical attention, the centre is also facilitating various activities such as yoga and pranayama to maintain a mind-body balance in the patients. Other provisions of breakfast, tea and dinners along with prime hygienic surroundings are also being ensured here to boost COVID recovery among inmates.
