Indore and nearby districts have been put on a security alert over a bomb threat, read reports. The Inspector-General of Police, Indore stated that the police personnel have been deployed in civil dress in suspected regions to take control of the situation. A bomb disposal squad has also been put on the front lines, in case of an emergency, he added.
DGP to investigate, identify & monitor terror links in MP
After UP’s Anti Terrorism Squad arrested two alleged Al-Qaida-linked terrorists with explosives in Lucknow’s Kakori region, national security has assumed the highest priority across all states. Considering the current situation, the Director-General of the Police has been tasked to identify and monitor terror links with the banned Students Islamic Movement of India and other terror outfits such as the Al-Qaeda.

On July 11, the UP ATS busted a terrorism racket and arrested two terrorists, identified as Minhaz Ahmad (30) and Maseeruddin (50), with explosives. The two men, alleged to have Al-Qaeda links, were conspiring to carry out blasts in Lucknow and western Uttar Pradesh ahead of India’s 75th Independence Day Celebrations of August 15, revealed investigations. The arrested have been sent to 14-day police remand.
