In view of the easing pandemic situation in Uttar Pradesh, the state technical education department has announced schedules for the students of all years enrolled under it. Reportedly, the authority has stated that the final year students of technical universities and polytechnic institutes would sit for online tests in the third week of July. Besides, the virtual assessments for first, second and third-year students shall be conducted in the last week of July.
Software being developed for a smooth process of online exams

Alok Kumar, Secretary, Technical education informed about the latest decision through a tweet from his official account. As per reports, the exam will be based on objective-type questions and students will be allowed a stipulated time to answer them. While the state government has issued a primary set of instructions for conducting these exams, different institutions shall formulate their rules assuring a smooth examination process.
Reportedly, the decision extends to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical Institute, Lucknow, Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur and Madan Mohan Malviya University, Gorakhpur. Additionally, reports state that the tests will also be conducted for students of pharma courses.
As per reports, a virtual interface is being developed for the exams, ensuring accessibility from a variety of devices including laptops and smartphones. Through this intervention, the students will be able to sit for exams from the comfort of their homes.
Online classes suffer due to technical interruptions
According to reports, students of the first year expressed displeasure over the decision because the state government had decided to promote them without exams. Earlier, it was decided that tests will be conducted only for final year students and those second-year students, who haven’t appeared for the exams last year. Besides, the tests were tweaked to reduce time and questions by half.
Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, pedagogy and learning suffered a lot in the state. Despite the online classes, the technical interruptions hampered teaching. Reportedly, some students have asked the administration to resume physical classes before conducting exams.
