Boosting industrial developments in the city and the state, Lucknow would soon emerge as a focal point for the manufacturing of defence equipment. As per reports, the Union Defence Minister declared on Tuesday that an advanced generation of Brahmos Missiles will be developed in the capital city. Reportedly, it is expected that an approximate count of 5,000 new employment opportunities will open up, with the initiation of this production centre.
A move to fuel new developments in the city
According to reports, the cabinet minister launched 90 new projects and laid the foundation stones of 90 other schemes, the total anticipated cost of which sums up to ₹1,700 crores. Ranging across different public sector units like Public Works Department (PWD), Medical and Health, Irrigation, Lucknow Municipal Corporation, Lucknow Development Authority and Smart City project, the initiatives would accelerate multi-faceted progress in the city.
Amid the highlights, the minister talked about the ambitious project which would fuel unprecedented developments for the state’s industrial sector. Besides being a cradle for new and enriching job opportunities, the centre would also propel the territorial economy, benefitting a range of firms and institutions.
State-of-the-art missile crafted by Indian and Russian agencies!
Brahmos is a supersonic cruise missile, which can be launched from a submarine, ship, aircraft and terrestrial vehicles. Being a state-of-the-art machine, it can hide from the range of the radars and accomplish its targets with greater ease and efficiency. Notably, it has been developed by the collaborative efforts of Russia’s NPO Mashinostroeyenia and India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation.
