Launched today, COVID vaccination drive in Goa aims to immunise about 700 people within 24 hours

Goa has kicked off its inoculation drive in tandem with the nationwide immunisation drive. With seven vaccine centres across the state, the immunity drive aims to jab about 700 beneficiaries on the first day of phase 1. According to Goa's mapping and registration process, about 19,000 frontline COVID warriors have applied to receive the booster shot, out of which, around 11,000 people have been shortlisted by state authorities as phase 1 beneficiaries.

Goa receives its 1st set of 23,500 Covishield doses; 19,000 health workers to benefit

After 23,500 vaccine doses reached the state capital from Mumbai on Wednesday, Goa is getting ready to start the first COVID-19 immunization drive. A stock of 2,350 vials currently placed in the secured cold storage, would be delivered to the assigned inoculation centres 24 hours before the launch of the maiden activity. The Chief Minister announced that a total of 19,000 employees of government and private healthcare facilities were categorised for the first phase of the vaccination.
