Tourism to restart in Goa only after 100% coverage of first vaccine shot for all adults

In a major policy announcement on Thursday, all tourism activities in Goa have been ordained to stay suspended until the state achieves 100% coverage of the first vaccine dose for adults. Goa Government aims to achieve 100% first dose vaccination by July 30

Under the ambit of the COVID vaccination drive, the state of Goa is targeting to achieve 100% coverage of the first dose vaccine among the eligible population by July 30. The Chief Minister on Tuesday relayed this vision, informing that the government aims to administer at least the first jab to all adults, i.e., people over 18 years of age. So far, about 36.3% of the Goan population have received the primary dose.

Walk-in vaccination allowed in Goa for 18-44 age group from June 13

To foster rife immunisation against the COVID contagion in the state, the Goa government on Friday, undertook a resolution to launch Tika Utsav 3.0, from June 13 onwards. Additonally, holding the state's ultimate goal of achieving herd immunity in the near future, the authorities have now allowed walk-in registrations for the 18-44 age group. Further, the government is actively taking steps to ensure that the upcoming inoculation campaign covers 100% first dose inoculation for all citizens in the region.

Tika Utsav 3.0 to commence in Goa with focus on vaccination of the rural population

After the success registered during the first two Tika Utsavs in Goa, the Chief Minister has encouraged the officials to conduct its third edition. Tika Utsav 3.0 will be launched in the rural parts of the state and will be especially for individuals falling in the 18-44 age group. Goa is boosting immunisation against COVID among the youth, by opening the doors of almost 83 vaccination centres for the 18-44 age group. As per the latest announcement by the Chief Minister of Goa, a fresh set of relaxation has been issued which is in sync with the guidelines of the Government of India. These relaxations allow the inoculation drive to give priority to individuals (18-44 age group) who are leaving for abroad, to get vaccinated at the earliest.
