In an attempt to ease the traffic woes faced by Lucknowites, two new flyovers connecting some major areas in Lucknow were inaugurated on Tuesday. Considering the ever-increasing issue of rising traffic on the roads of Lucknow, these two overpasses will significantly help in decongesting the roads, in about 24 localities in old city as well as the Hazratganj-Charbagh road. These endeavours will cut down the commute time and control the overall problem of heightened traffic in Lucknow.
Great respite for Lucknowites!
In an attempt to reduce the growing traffic on the city roads, two new flyovers have been inaugurated in Lucknow. Besides the new Hussainganj to DAV College flyover and Meena Bakery to Rajajipuram flyover, a new approach underpass road connecting Gomti Nagar and Gomti Nagar Extension have also been given a go.
Located in Aryanagar, the Hussainganj-DAV College flyover is a three lane structure that will reduce the commute time between Hussainganj and Aryanagar, a stretch of 2.7km, from 30 minutes to 10 minutes. This overpass road will also relieve heavy traffic in the areas of Lalkuan, Naka Hindola, Rajendranagar, Motinagar, Aishbagh, and Charbagh besides the source and terminating point.
On the other hand, the Meena Bakery to Rajajipuram Flyover, which costs around ₹65 crores is expanded on a 908-meter stretch in two lanes, which will reduce commute time between Haiderganj Crossing and Meena Bakery by 10 minutes . This cutdown of the travel time will, will reduce the traffic conditions in the neighbouring localities as people will prefer the shortened route.
