Even though rain and thunderstorms have brought some relief in the recent past, severe heat wave in UP is expected in May-June. Now, there are already many precautions which have been made to protect residents from heat stroke with regular water sprinkling on roads, water tanks in public places and sheds in open spaces like parks, likely to come up soon.

Arrangements will also be made on construction sites and MNREGA sites with sheds and sufficient drinking water. Furthermore, temples and tourist places in UP will also get temporary shelters to provide relief from heat to travelers.

Lastly, the authorities have also announced food and water arrangements for birds and animals, who are at a higher risk of heat stroke as the mercury rises.
