COVID-19 treatment clocks 70% success rate with Remdesivir, plasma steroid combination in Goa

Obtaining a treatment strategy with the combination of antiviral Remdesivir, plasma and steroid treatment for COVID-19 patients, the state of Goa has attained a 70% success rate informed the Health Minister on Friday, and further stated that Goa will continue the successful treatment protocol along with a continually evolving arrangement to administer and treat post COVID-19 complications with a holistic approach and proper follow-ups.

Demarcation process of beach shacks in North Goa has begun; to be started in South Goa soon

As per reports, the tourism department has commenced the demarcation process of beach shacks along Goa's North coastal belt, which includes Calangute, Candolim and Anjuna. Officials are expecting the exercise to be completed within another two weeks. The start of this process of area allotment for the beach shacks, has provided a major relief to many business owners as they have been waiting to resume their operations soon. Under the Air Bubble Pact, flyers can now directly travel to London from Goa

Air India has now started direct flights between Goa International Airport and London Heathrow, on a weekly basis. This service is soon expected to be bi-weekly from November onwards under the Air Bubble agreement. The Goa Airport authorities took to Twitter and announced, "Important day for Goa Intn'l Airport. Today Air India starts its direct flight LHR-GOI-LHR, B787. Initially once a week then twice a week from November under Air Bubble. Goa connects to London directly now. This venture will surely promote tourism in the state and flyers will be able to land up in Goa and vice-versa, without much hassles.

Goa government approves resumption of river cruises & watersports with a proper SOP in place

Old Goa Medical College at Ribandar to be refurbished into a 30-bedded PHC

The Government of Goa has decided to convert the old Goa Medical College Building in Ribander to a fully upgraded and equipped Primary Health Centre (PHC). This 30-bed facility will provide excellent treatment and amenities of medical emergencies to the residents of Ribandar, Chimbel, Merces, Divar, Old Goa and surrounding areas. This new medical institution will be an integrated set-up of the Goa Medical College and the Directorate of Health Services which will provide facilities of diagnostic care, mobile X-ray machine and ultrasound machines, among others.
