Goa Airport now all set to ensure smooth supply of medical essentials to the state!

In the wake of the surging COVID cases during the second wave of the pandemic, the shortage of COVID essentials has been a major issue, along with timely deliveries. Given this scenario, the Goa International Airport and its frontline corona warriors are all geared up to ensure smooth delivery of medical essentials, as per a statement by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on Friday. Further, as per reports, the GOI had also handled three lots of COVID vaccine for Goa and one lot for Karnataka, back in January and February, this year.

15-day curfew to be imposed in Goa from May 9 to May 23 amid inflating COVID tallies!

Alarmed by the uncontrolled spike in COVID cases and increasing rate of fatalities, the Goa government has declared a state-wide curfew, from May 9 to May 23. During this period of 15 days, only essential services will be allowed, including the facilities providing medical supplies. While the CM delivered a long address to announce this decision on Friday, reports state that a detailed order about the specifics of the curfew will be released by 4 PM today.

Goa to start 'war rooms' in each constituency to track & treat COVID patients at the grassroots!

In a bid to boost the efficiency of COVID-19 management in Goa, the Chief Minister on Friday, directed state legislators to start 'war rooms' in their respective constituencies to test and treat the infected caseload here. These systems will also look after the patients who are in isolation or need to be shifted to hospitals. These 'rooms' will further be equipped with a call centre to enable the representatives to be in touch with home isolated COVID patients, the CM added.

Goa govt "positively thinking" about a full lockdown as state reports 3,869 cases on Thursday

Amidst the surging COVID cases in the country right now, Goa continues to see a rising trend in the number of new infections coming up every day. With a total of 3,869 COVID positive cases reported on Thursday, the count of confirmed cases in the state so far reached a whopping total of 1,08,267.
