North India's largest integrated command centre to come up in Lucknow

Lucknow will soon have a unified Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) for 16 other smart cities of the state. This centre will be one of the largest cloud-based command centres in Northern India and will help improve traffic flow, pick up traffic violations and control pollution in the cities, besides a host of other services and utilities.

Lucknow Smart City Project to implement an integrated traffic management system from July 1

In a digital upgrade under the Lucknow Smart City Project, it has been decided to implement an Integrated Traffic Management System, with effect from July 1. Reportedly, the new arrangement will employ a network of state-of-the-art CCTV cameras, internet connection and NIC data, across 132 intersections in the city, to give momentum to this initiative. Thus, from now on, drivers and riders will be charged with an e-challan or e-traffic ticket in case of any traffic violation here.

Lucknow's sewer system to be upgraded with smart sensors by December

The Lucknow Smart City campaign has undertaken yet another project to boost the ease of living and civic adaptability of the city, which includes the task of sewer line repair. Under this development programme, smart sensors will be installed at a height in the sewer manholes, across the city.

The Project Manager of Lucknow Jal Nigam, Piyush Maurya, informed that these sensors will send an alert to the command centre, if and when the drainage water reaches a certain level in the sewer lines. This will ensure the timely cleaning of these, to prevent choking and blocks.

Lucknow's iconic Charbagh Railway Station is all set to undergo a major facelift to become a world-class facility soon. This chess-board railway terminus is slated to get an underground way and parking along with an overhead concourse, to link the Charbagh Railway Station to the Metro Station via the Lucknow Junction. Lucknow to get new panic buttons & pink toilets, under Safe City Mission

In a bid to develop smart emergency-assistance systems in Lucknow, new panic buttons will be installed at several intersections in Lucknow. These panic buttons will also be positioned near the 'Pink Toilets' in the city, which are being developed under the 'Smart City Mission'. Prominent areas in Lucknow, such as Hazratganj, Gomti Nagar, Indira Nagar and Alambagh will get the panic-buttons first, read reports.
