Civic authorities in Lucknow are making significant efforts to enhance the city’s green spaces. Under a new initiative, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced plans to establish the city’s first Biodiversity Park in the Gomti Nagar area. The park will be developed on a 75-acre land parcel reclaimed from the Sahara Group.
The upcoming Gomti Biodiversity Park is set to be developed as a wetland along the banks of the Gomti River, aiming to attract native and migratory bird species. To enrich its natural environment, the LDA will carry out extensive afforestation efforts, planting a variety of trees, bushes, and grasses. Additionally, a large lotus pond and rare aquatic plants, along with fruit-bearing and medicinal trees, will be introduced to create a thriving ecosystem for birds, aquatic species, and small wildlife.
The project will begin with a detailed inspection of the land by LDA authorities, followed by the preparation of a comprehensive project report (DPR) to outline the development plan.
