Great news for those who use Kanpur Metro for their daily commute! City’s five new underground stations are ready for a December launch, allowing commuters to reach the Central Railway Station easily. This will be the first time, that Kanpur Metro trains will travel through a tunnel.
New Kanpur Metro stations
The five new Kanpur Metro stations include Brijendra Swaroop Park, Chunniganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha, and Nayaganj. It’s worth noting that the existing Kanpur Metro corridor is fully elevated, and this will be the first time the city’s metro will pass through a tunnel.
In further expansion plans, the Kanpur Metro stretch till Naubasta will become operational by September 2025. However, the Motijheel to Central Railway Station route is currently eagerly awaited by approximately 20 lakh residents.
