Mumbai woke up to a hazy, partly cloudy morning on Friday, following a week of intermittent rain and clearer midweek skies. Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast light to moderate rainfall and possible thunderstorms in the evening, particularly across parts of the suburbs. Temperatures are expected to hover around 31°C (maximum) and 22°C (minimum).
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, Light to Moderate rainfall, gusty winds with speed reaching 30-40 Kmph very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of South konkan-Goa and South Madhya Maharashtra.

RMC expects a drop of 2-4°C in minimum temperatures over the next two days as weather systems over the Bay of Bengal weaken. Much of Maharashtra is likely to turn dry from Saturday, offering relief after weeks of persistent rain and high humidity. Farmers are expected to see improved conditions for Rabi sowing in the coming days. No warnings have been issued so far.
Air quality slips to ‘Moderate’
Meanwhile, the city’s air quality deteriorated sharply after Dev Diwali, with Mumbai recording an AQI of 130 on Friday morning, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board’s SAMEER app shows the following data:
