Lucknow doesn’t do sandwiches by halves, it does them by extremes. Burrata on one end, a four-rupee toast sandwich on the other, and absolutely no shame connecting the two. This is a city where a cart outside a college gate and a cafe plating paneer tikka croissants are, somehow, playing the same game. Eleven places prove it: tandoori aloo next to schezwan paneer, garlic loaf competing with roadside butter, cheese doing the heavy lifting everywhere in between. Fancy or footpath, nobody here is being modest about a sandwich.
Nukkad

We’ll start with everyone’s favourite in Lucknow, yes it’s Nukkad’s sandwiches. Toasted perfectly, and quietly more consistent than most things the city actually brags about. Cheese & corn is the entry point, paneer loaded is the one nobody skips, pav bhaji sandwich cheats by stuffing an entire dish between two slices, and cheese & veggie is what you order when you’re pretending to have restraint.
When- 7 AM- 9 PM
Where- Aliganj, Vibhuti Khand
The Fresh Factory

The Fresh Factory skips the street-food theatrics entirely and goes straight for ingredients that sound like they wandered in from a European deli. Basil pesto and burrata doesn’t ask permission to be fancy, mushroom & cottage cheese is the quiet overachiever on the menu, and the chicken club sandwich does what a club sandwich should, stack high, hold together, no apologies. This isn’t your roadside fix, It’s what happens when someone decides Lucknow deserves better bread.
When- 9 AM- 11 PM
Where- A 7, Kisaan Bazaar, Vibhuti Khand, Opposite Cinepolis Mall, Gomti Nagar
Sidewalk Bakehouse & Cafe

Sidewalk Bakehouse & Cafe sounds like it should be selling croissants, and it does that too, but the sandwiches are where it actually competes. Garlic chicken doesn’t hold back on the garlic, which feels like the right call. Greek guy sandwich borrows a name and a flavour profile from somewhere entirely else and gets away with it. Smoked chicken sandwich is the one regulars order without checking the menu, and mushroom melt sandwich is what happens when someone finally takes vegetarians seriously.
When- 9 AM- 12 AM
Where- House B/4/492, Vivek Khand, Ground and 1st Floor, Zone 15, Gomti Nagar
Grill Wid Sancheezz

Grill Wid Sancheez isn’t spelling cheese wrong for fun, it’s setting expectations. Eight sandwiches in, and the menu reads like it couldn’t decide between Indian street food and a pizza topping list, so it just kept both. Tandoori aloo sandwich and indori sandwich pull from two entirely different regions and somehow end up on the same plate. Schezwan paneer and peri peri paneer argue over which spice mix wins. Ghotala cheese sandwich sounds like chaos and mostly is, in the best way. Jungle cheese sandwich, meanwhile, offers no explanation for its name, and doesn’t need one.
When- 12 PM- 10:30 PM
Where- D 77, Sector -P, Opposite Union Bank Of India, Aliganj
Nook

Everything about Nook undersells itself, starting with the name. Simply chicken sandwich is the kind of “simple” that takes effort to get right, and it shows. Garden club sandwich plays the responsible one on the menu, right up until you taste it and reconsider what “healthy” is supposed to mean. Paneer buzz sandwich lives up to its name, one bite in and you get it. Mushroom rush sandwich is the wildcard that somehow becomes everyone’s second order. Four sandwiches, no unnecessary noise about any of them.
When- 12 PM- 11 PM
Where- Vinay Khand 3, Patrakarpuram
The Hazelnut Factory

Every sandwich list needs one item that breaks its own rules, and at The Hazelnut Factory, it’s the paneer tikka croissant, flaky, buttery, and doing tandoori duty it was never trained for. The rest of the menu plays it comparatively straight. Grilled veg & cheese sandwich is dependable without trying too hard. Mushroom & spinach cheese melted sandwich in garlic loaf leans into excess, and smoky barbecue cottage cheese sandwich brings the one flavour note the others don’t.
When- 8:30 AM- 11:30 PM
Where- Nirala Nagar [Multiple outlets across Lucknow]
Nurture

Nurture is a big word for a sandwich menu that includes something as ordinary as an egg sandwich, and yet, somehow, the name earns itself. Lachha paneer sandwich takes a paratha technique and smuggles it between two slices of bread. Egg sandwich stays exactly as humble as it sounds, which is its whole charm. Pesto cottage cheese sandwich adds a bit of ambition to the lineup, and creamy corn paneer sandwich is the one that convinces everyone at the table to just share.
When- 8 AM- 2 PM
Where- Gate 3, Zone 17, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park, Gomti Nagar
Cheesy Bites

Cheesy Bites sounds like a snack-sized promise, and then the sandwiches show up looking like a full commitment. Veg grill sandwich keeps things classic, no detours. Sweet corn grill sandwich is the one that convinces people who claim they don’t like corn. Paneer tikka grill takes a tandoor favourite and grills it into submission, and chicken keema grill sandwich stuffs an entire curry’s worth of flavour between two slices, no cutlery required. Sandwiches that clearly didn’t read the memo about staying bite-sized.
When- 11 AM- 10 PM
Where- Raebareli Road, Aashiyana
Crave Fit

Crave Fit promises restraint and delivers paneer alfredo instead, a contradiction the menu makes zero attempt to hide. Paneer tikka sandwich and grilled paneer sandwich stick to safer territory, while barbeque paneer sandwich and barbeque chicken sandwich both bet on smoky sauce solving everything. Chicken tikka sandwich plays it straight, no embellishment needed. And then there’s paneer alfredo sandwich, the one item that seems to have wandered in from an entirely different diet philosophy, and stayed anyway.
When- 10:30 AM- 10:30 PM
Where- Vishal Khand, Gomti Nagar
The Bombay Sandwich Co.

The Bombay Sandwich Co. makes its loyalties clear before you’ve even opened the menu, this is Bombay’s sandwich culture, transplanted to Lucknow and given no reason to apologise for it. Bombay masala sandwich brings the chutney-and-spice combination the city’s street corners are known for. Cheese corn sandwich plays the neutral card, the one dish that could belong to any city and stakes no claim. Then there’s the Bombay special sandwich, which sounds like a cop-out name right up until it turns out to be the one everyone actually orders.
When- 10:30 AM- 10:30 PM
Where- Kisan Bazar, Gomti Nagar
Bombay Bhel & Sandwiches

Bombay Bhel & Sandwiches doesn’t dress itself up, and a cart was never going to pretend otherwise. Veg toast sandwich keeps things at their most basic, no embellishment attempted. Veg masala toast sandwich adds just enough spice to earn its name, nothing more. Veg cheese grilled sandwich and masala cheese grilled sandwich both lean on melted cheese to do the convincing, and it works every time. Nothing here is reinventing the sandwiches, it’s just reminding you why the basics never needed fixing.
When- 11 AM- 11:30 PM
Where- 9, Shahnazaf, Road, Near Cathedral School, Hazratganj
