The Apex Trauma Centre at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) in Lucknow, which was converted into Rajdhani Covid Hospital, has once again started accepting general trauma patients. All services here are now available here round the clock, informed a PGI professor. Notably, the emergency and OPD wards were also opened for their designated functions on November 8.

Amid the receding threat of the pandemic and dipping count of active COVID patients in Lucknow, the SGPGI unit of coronavirus treatment has been disbanded. All routine services and aids have now resumed here. All other facilities are now functioning here as during the pre-COVID times.
About 7 patients were admitted to the trauma cell yesterday until 2 PM, reported the PGI’s Chief Medical Superintendent. He further highlighted that the state of the art trauma centre at Vrindavan Colony is one of the best of its kind across the country.
Meanwhile, the stats provided by PGI Director Professor RK Dhiman stated that Rajadhani COVID Hospital in Lucknow has provided clinical attention to more than 3000 patients during the 18-month pandemic course. The centre has now been relocated to the main hospital building amid the declining rate of infections.
