Launched this Friday under the government’s smart transport initiative, Chalo is an app that you can use to track the location of the bus/es you intend to board. ‘Chalo’ is a free mobile app that helps people plan their daily commute while being at the comforts of their home or office.

A passenger would be required to enter the bus route number or the destination to get the information they need. All of the city buses are equipped with a vehicle tracking device and can be tracked if they are within a circumference of 4-5 Kms. The new electric buses will also be covered under the same after being operational.

Chalo will let passenger track the arrival of their bus, find the fastest and the cheapest options from all bus routes to their destination, know the live GPS position of the bus on a map, plan their trips and enjoy a safe travel because of the safety features such as SOS, live trip sharing with family or friends and emergency.

The app is already being used in 15 other cities but Lucknow will be UP’s first city to launch the app which is available to download for free on Google Play Store.
