For a long time, Lucknow has been facing many issues with its traffic condition. The traffic in the city is ever expanding and the metro has done little to clear up the roads. The government has been doing their part by installing high tech methods to catch rule violators, ensuring that people follow traffic rules, fixing potholes and implementing new traffic management systems. Will the authorities install tyre killers, that help battle wrong side traffic in Lucknow? We are not sure yet.

The tyre killers are pointed towards the oncoming side of the traffic and cause one’s tyres to puncture or lose air. The tyre killers slip into the ground as a vehicle goes over it in the correct direction, dealing no harm to the vehicle.
In December 2018, a similar trial run was conducted in Noida. It was suggested that the authorities may consider using this adverse method to curb the ever increasing traffic violations in a number of other cities as well.
The tyre killers may cause some major inconvenience to a lot of commuters, but it certainly will send a message of more safe travels and adhering to traffic rules. Apart from battling oncoming traffic, it can also be used to block certain U turns which are not warranted.
As of now, the concerned authorities have only just conducted trial runs in Pune and Noida, but, if the results prove fruitful, they aim to implement it on a greater scale across Noida.
