Mumbai Police have issued a detailed traffic and security plan for Ganeshotsav 2025, with restrictions, diversions and parking bans across the city. The 10-day festival begins on August 27 and concludes with Anant Chaturdashi on September 6. Millions of devotees are expected at pandals, including the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja, and at immersion sites across Mumbai. On Ganesh Visarjan, Mumbai Police will enforce ‘no-parking’ zones around beaches and lakes, including Girgaon Chowpatty, Juhu, Dadar, Marve, Versova and Powai. Watchtowers, public announcement systems and plainclothes officers will be deployed to monitor crowd movement.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also issued guidelines on old road overbridges, limiting pedestrian crossings to 100 people at a time and prohibiting halts, dancing and loudspeakers during processions.
