Fully vaccinated tourists can now enter Goa without a negative COVID certificate

The High Court on Monday, acceded to a plea of the Goa government, granting entry to all fully vaccinated tourists and travellers into the state without a negative COVID report. Until now, this provision was not available for visitors, who had to produce a negative certificate irrespective of their vaccination status.

COVID curfew in Goa may extend beyond July 12 amid pandemic fears

Amid the widespread threat of COVID-19, the presence of new virus strains and the expected 'third wave', the Goa Chief Minister on Friday hinted that the state-level curfew might be extended here. In a public statement, the CM stated that the government needs to think about continuing the state curfew beyond July 12. It may be noted that some relaxations, with respect to operations of restaurants, bars and outdoor sports complexes were awarded on July 2 here.

Follow COVID protocols or face action; a penalty of ₹200 on people not wearing a mask in Goa

On Wednesday, Goa's Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, stated that enforcement agencies have been instructed to fine individuals on multiple occasions on a single day for violation of COVID-19 related SOPs, to check the ongoing case rise. He also added that police have been directed to fine more than 500 persons(a day). Additionally, the penalty for not wearing a face mask in public places and crowded areas have been heightened to ₹200 now.
