IMD predicts high tide in Mumbai​​ amid moderate to intense rain spells today

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall activity in Mumbai, in its 24-hour forecast today. As per the weather reports, the city, suburbs and satellite regions are going to receive light showers, with the possibility of intense spells at isolated places throughout the day. A 4.40-meter high tide is also expected in Mumbai at 1:51 PM, read reports. This may lead to water clogging in flood-prone and low-lying areas of the city.

IMD issues warning for Goa & Maharashtra as Cyclone 'Tauktae' brews in Arabian Sea

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that a cyclonic storm will engulf the western coast of India, bringing heavy rains to South Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kutch and even adjoining southwest Rajasthan. As per reports, a low-pressure area in the southwest Arabian Sea is likely to transform into the first cyclone of 2021 in the next 24 hours, which would be named 'Tuktae'. Strong winds and intensified downpours will characterize the cyclonic activity and consequently, the IMD has issued warnings in the aforementioned areas.
