On March 04, the Uttar Pradesh government flagged off a new UPSRTC bus service, the Rajdhani Express, which connected Lucknow with various district headquarters within the state. As many as 76 Rajdhani Express buses were flagged off, providing transportation to more than one lakh villagers.
Expanding the horizon, these buses will now run directly from all the districts of UP to Delhi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister will start these buses by showing green flag on June 2 from the CM’s residence on Kalidas Marg.
Connecting corners of Uttar Pradesh
The mission behind this service is to connect corners of Uttar Pradesh with the capital city, Delhi. Transport Department is working towards deploying as many as 93 buses as Rajdhani Express buses. As per reports, one bus each will run from districts falling near to Delhi. However, two buses will run from distant districts in UP. The average fare of Rajdhani Express is 10% more than the normal bus service.
As per the Transport Corporation, this scheme is one of the projects which can truly bring about a major difference in the way commutes are handled. This decision has been taken with the aim of providing easy and affordable transport services to the people.
