Mumbai’s FIRST underground Metro Line 3, also known as Aqua Line’s Phase 1, stretching from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey, was opened to the public on October 7.
The inaugural day of the Aqua Line 3 kicked off at 11 am, drawing a crowd of eager passengers. However, as per Mumbai Metro Line 3’s official X handle, only 18,015 commuters hopped aboard by 6 pm. Reports indicate that this fell short of the target of 400,000 daily riders needed to sustain the financial model.

As per reports, Phase 2, stretching from BKC to Colaba, is expected to be completed between March and May 2025, with 90% of the work already done.
