The Lucknow Heritage Zone is about to welcome an exciting new addition—a Fragrance Park located right opposite the Hussaibad Clock Tower. This first-of-its-kind park for the city will feature fragrant flowers and lush greenery, creating a sensory experience for visitors.
Spanning 2.3 acres, the park has been under construction by LDA authorities since last year. Now, with most of the infrastructure complete, it’s set to open soon, bringing a refreshing new space for Lucknow residents to enjoy.
NBRI to Plant Aromatic, Flower-Bearing Saplings
Much work is still underway to enhance the park’s greenery. The National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) is actively planting a variety of flower-bearing saplings, including aromatic species like Jasmine, Champa, Parijaat, and Chandni. Additionally, the park will feature imported flowering plants, creating a unique sensory experience. Designed to bloom year-round, the park promises to offer visitors a refreshing escape, with the scents of diverse flora enriching each visit.
A Welcoming Space For All Ages and Abilities
For an aesthetic appeal and amenities, the upcoming Fragrance Park has an amphitheatre, a central fountain area, a designated cafeteria, public washrooms, and a jogging track.
Additionally, braille information panels will aid visually impaired visitors here, while ramps provide wheelchair access for inclusivity.
Once open for publish, the park is expected to draw large footfalls, and become a favourite among morning walkers, tourists exploring nearby heritage sites, and the city’s botany enthusiasts alike.
