In a bid to streamline intense traffic locks at the Alambagh-Chowk railway overbridge (ROB), the Setu Corporation has started the construction of a one-way road in Rajajipuram in Lucknow. This construction of this cloverleaf road is expected to complete by March 22, enhancing mobility for over 3 lakh vehicles that frequent the area. As per reports, the ₹16 crore project was approved and sanctioned in March 2021 only, however, could not proceed due to the second wave of coronavirus.
New road at Rajajipuram to regulate traffic jams
Very soon, a one-way road convenience will be opened up for the people of Lucknow travelling to the Rani Laxmibai Hospital in Rajajipuram. Chief Project Manager of the clover-leaf route informed that while the hospital is located on the left-hand side of the ROB Rail Sampada 218A, people usually have to face severe bottlenecks at the bridge itself, sometimes resulting in health mishaps.
As a result, the construction of a one-way road has been put on the fast track here to enable a convenient travel route to the hospital and neighbouring areas. The plan will also regulate traffic on the Alambagh-Chowk road, easing commute for those going towards Talkatora Chowk. The new road will prevent jams near the landmark Hanuman Mandir, ensuring smooth transfers throughout the locale.
Groundwork construction work has already picked pace here and soon all cable lines stretching on the route will be shifted by Lesa, Forest Department, Jalkal Department, Municipal Corporation and BSNL. Setu Nigam Officials informed that will be done to open up a wider stretch for the advantage of the public.
