Meteorological department predicts early winters in Lucknow this year

Knocksense Staff

In Game of Thrones, it took about 6 seasons for winter to actually reach Westeros. Lucknow however, has to prep for winters every 9 months. So get your quilts, sweaters and woolies out from the depths of hastily stacked clothes cause winter is on its way. And the nip in the air has us all excited about the change in season.

A few days back, the meteorological department recorded a dip in night temperatures by about 2-3 degrees making it likely that winter would set in by Diwali. The past few years have seen a late onset of winter, usually by the end of November and dropping to very low temperatures during December and January.

The early onset of winter is certainly a pleasant surprise to Lucknowites who are already shopping for the latest and trendiest woolies. Though you can enjoy cozying up in your quilts, Lucknowites are also dreading the winter fog. The fog is notorious for throwing travel plans into a loop and it even renders local commute difficult.

But after a sultry summer, Lucknowites are looking forward to the chilly mornings, the ‘just enough warm’ afternoons and the shivering nights!
