Goa Chief Minister on Monday announced that the examinations of higher secondary and varsity students will be conducted in the offline mode, this academic year. He also added that the exams for classes X and XII will be carried out in the same manner as they were held earlier this year. The state is stressing on offline exams this year due to the lack of digital infrastructure, stable networks and accessibility to electronic devices for all students appearing for these exams.

Speaking at a function organised to felicitate meritorious students at the Harmal Panchkroshi educational institute in North Goa district, the Chief Minister said that there was anxiety among students about when and how the exams would be conducted. “A lot of students are wondering when higher secondary schools or colleges will resume classes. We are stressing on offline exams this year. Class XI, XII as well as college exams will be held offline,” CM added.
Currently, schools in Goa are only allowed to hold offline classes for Class X and Class XII students, while other students are taught online by educational institutions. These offline, physical classes resumed for class X and class XII students November 21 this year, to prepare them for the council board examinations. A total aggregate of 35,000 students have registered for the class X and class XII exams, combined.
As per reports, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, exams for class X are scheduled to begin from May 13 2021, while class XII exams are scheduled to start from April 26, 2021. Practical exams, on the other hand, will be conducted from April 5 to April 30 for class X and from April 1 to April 24 for class XII.
