Indore's Avesh Khan & Venkatesh Iyer secure a spot in the Indian cricket team!

Avesh Khan & Venkatesh Iyer from Indore have been selected to play against New Zealand in the upcoming T20I series.

Good news for the cricket fanatics of Indore as two lads from the city have secured a spot in the Indian cricket team. Bringing laurels to the city, Avesh Khan and Venkatesh Iyer have been chosen for the upcoming 3-match T-20 series against New Zealand. Post this T20I series, New Zealand will play two test matches with India which will be played in Kanpur and Mumbai.


Proud moment for Indore!

Delirious with joy, the people of Indore have already started celebrating this golden moment, while both the cricketers are currently busy playing the Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. Iyer, who started his career with List A and T20 in 2015 amazed the world with his top-class performance in the latest edition of the Indian Premier League held in UAE. While playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders, he scored a total of 265 runs in six innings with a strike rate of 123.25 and grabbed three wickets in 7.3 overs.

Notably, Avesh Khan made his Twenty20 debut in IPL 2017, as a part of Royal Challengers Banglore. The 21-year old pacer, who played for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021 became the leading wicket-taker of the team by dismissing 24 players in 15 matches. After earning the national call-up, both the cricketers are all set to perform their best in the upcoming T20I series. Talking about the selection, Avesh Khan said that after years of hard work, his dreams have finally turned into a reality.

Around 7 decades ago, two young lads from Indore played for the national cricket team at the same time. India's first skipper- C K Naidu and cricket legend Syed Mushtaq Ali played for team India together in 1932. To carry forward this rich historic legacy, Khan and Iyer have some really big shoes to fill now.

Amid the rising fear of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, 5 new cases of Covid-19 (Older variants) have gripped Lucknow. This new tally includes three cases from the same household and a single independent case from Vibhuti Khand which record an inter-state travel history. PWD to widen & repair road leading to Chandrika Devi Temple from Sitapur Road in Lucknow!

Public Work Department will partner up with district administration and police department to conduct an anti-encroachment drive on this route as well

Soon the residents of Lucknow will be able to travel to Chandrika Devi Temple with ease, as the road leading to the temple will be widened and repaired by the administration soon. In an effort to facilitate easier and smoother traffic movement, the Public Work Department will undertake repair work on the road leading to Chandrika Devi Temple from Sitapur Road. Apart from the repair work, the authorities will also widen the 11.45 kilometre long road as well. According to the reports available at present, the work on this project is expected to start this month.
