The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore has added another course to its curriculum. Students can now enrol themselves for a BTech in Engineering Physics for the academic year 2023-24 with 30 seats, which intends to provide a more holistic perspective and hands-on approach.
Apart from IIT Indore, other IITs including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati and IIT Madras already offer the same course.
Course structure for B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing
The four-year-long, undergraduate degree program is divided into 8 semesters, where the 1st semester will comprise 19 credits and 2nd semester – 21.5 credits. In the fourth year students are required to undertake two internships which will own one credit each. Further, they will also get a chance to choose an elective every semester from the relevant options.
Students appearing for admission to the programme should possess qualifying JEE Advanced 2023 score. Additionally, candidates must have completed the class 12 (or equivalent) examination from any recognised state or central board.

Recently, IIT Indore announced 10 new courses including four in BTech and six new MTech programs from the academic year 2023. These courses include BTech in Chemical Engineering, Mathematics & Computing, Engineering Physics and Space Science & Engineering.
The new MTech programmes will be offered with specialisation in Computer Science & Engineering, Water, Climate & Sustainability, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Optics & Laser Technology, Structural Engineering and Defence.
