Amid the continuing spread of Dengue in Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur recorded 13 more cases on Wednesday. As per reports, the new infections reported in the city have pushed Kanpur’s cumulative Dengue tally to a total of 298 cases. Out of the total registered numbers, 237 patients have been recorded in rural areas of Kanpur, read reports. On the other hand, the remaining 61 infections were identified in the urban regions of the district.
12 rural & urban areas of Kanpur witness new infections
Going by reports, the Health Department of Kanpur has recorded one victim each in New Azad Nagar and 10 more areas namely- Gujepur and Markhara in Bilhaur, Khersa in Bidhnu, Bamburiya in Sarsaul, Jawahar Nagar West in Ghatampur, Parihar PCO street of Kushmanda Nagar, Bhavanipur of Chaubeypur Block, Ramsari, Patara and Hafizpur.
Additionally, three cases were registered in the area of Babhiyapur on Wednesday. Taking cognisance of the situation, the Malaria Unit of the Kanpur’s Health Department has been trying to combat the increasing count of mosquitos in the city. Regular fogging and repellant sprays are being deployed at the city level to eliminate the larvae-borne disease.
While the authorities are taking a list of interventions to curtail the spread of the disease, citizens need to be equally aware and agile about the situation at hand. It is important to ensure that no spaces in the surroundings have stagnant or accumulated water, which is the biggest factor behind the surge in infections. Further, other preventive measures must also be followed.
