Good news for all the wildlife lovers! Three tiger reserves in UP are scheduled to reopen for the public from November 15. After following months of COVID-induced restrictions, Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR), Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary will finally greet tourists from Monday. Reportedly, the management had to postpone the reopening due to waterlogged and damaged roads due to the recent flood in Kheri. The parks were earlier supposed to reopen on November 1.

As the current situation in Uttar Pradesh is turning towards a positive side, the government has taken certain measures to turn things back to normal. In line with this vision, the authorities have eventually geared up to welcome the visitors after months of lockdown owing to the pandemic, to make up for the loss incurred by the tourism sector.
Reportedly, before welcoming the tourists, the famous Tharu huts and guest houses were repaired and whitewashed by the authorities. Moreover, ahead of the reopening, the damaged jungle routes have been restored and arrangement for the special Dudhwa Safari Jeeps has also been taken care of. However, the entry of tourists in certain ranges of the Dudhwa National Park will remain restricted due to the damaged approach road, till it becomes safe for public movement. As per the forest officials, all those who had booked the rest houses in line with the initial reopening schedule will be given a choice to postpone their stay or even seek refund for the same.
