Sprawled through an estate of 5,400 square kilometres, this sanctuary is hosts about 70% of the critically endangered species of gharial, which has awarded it the name of National Chambal Gharial Wildlife Sanctuary. Providing you with an experience of untouched and unpolluted natural domains and scapes, this place can be a wonder-fantasy escape from the hustle-bustle of the city life.
A couple of hours away from the city of Indore, this place is characterised by mazing terrestrial stretches and interlocked muddy cliffs, sandy beach banks, ravines. A major part of this destination encroaches within the borders of Uttar Pradesh, extending 635 square kilometres, extending until the confluence of River Chambal with River Yamuna, covering the districts of Agra and Etawa. This region nests about a total of 290 different species of migratory and resident birds, and to put it simply, it is a magnanimous paradise for bird watchers! If you start your journey at the wake of dawn here, you’d experience an amplified moment of melodious morning chirping of birds. The upper limit of the sanctuary starts at the Kota Barrage in Rajasthan, where one can spot the rare species of mugger crocodiles, freshwater turtles and even flamingos.

The balmy winter sun not only magnets terrestrial animals from their hiding spots but several migratory birds can also be seen here during the colder months. Besides that, from October to March, the river remains calms, sans the heavy showers of monsoon, which also impedes adventurous, through puddles, mud and muck.

Besides, the normal jeep safari, this national park offers you with bicycle rides, camel safaris and horse safaris.
