Shukla Chaat House

This is one of the most popular chaat spots located in the heart of Lucknow-Hazratganj. One of the oldest too, Shukla Chaat House serves aloo tikkis with fresh tangy curd and a slurpy meethi chutney. The matar chaat here is their signature dish and it is a perfect mix of dried white peas and chatpate masale which makes it our favourite. While serving, they sprinkle a few drops of nimbu here and there on top and then they garnish it with chopped coriander! To add a textural crunch, a crushed batasha is layered on top and we’re already salivating, just writing about it.

Located on the main road of Ganeshganj, Tiwari’ji ke batashe are light and crisp and are served with different varieties of sweet and spicy paani which makes it different than others around. The aloo tikkis here are fried in ghee and served with a generous amount of zingy curd and sweet tamarind chutney which tickles our tongues the right way. Another favourite here is the palaki chaat which is made of deep fried spinach leaves coated in besan and this is served with desi condiments!
