Metro is truly a gift for Lucknowites and is here to make our lives easy and save 50-75% of our time. Keeping in mind the safety and comfort of the people, there is a host of things, the Lucknow metro has to offer.
While AC coaches will help you beat the heat, availability of free chilled and purified water at all the stations will help you quench your thirst. Metro coaches also have mobile phone charging points so don’t forget to carry your USB charger if your phone’s battery dies easily.

For your safety, there are a total of 16 CCTV cameras and 32 smoke detectors in each train, with a total passenger capacity of 1310 and 186 seating space.
Every coach has a talkback feature, which can be used by the passengers for communicating with the train operator during an emergency. Each train has a total of 84 mobile charging points and is provided with LED lights with an auto dim feature.
Names of the stations will be displayed in 3 languages- Hindi, English, and Urdu, and will be displayed on 48 LCD screens.
One bad thing for all Lucknowites, you can’t spit inside the metro. There is a strict fine of Rs 200, which will be imposed on you if you think of your using your ‘paan spit’ creativity.

The tokens will be available at counters of all the 8 stations of the priority stretch. There are user friendly counters also for wheel chair users and staff assisted wheel chairs will be provided at all the metro stations and a special dedicated place is available for people with the wheel chair in the coaches.

There is free Wifi facility for all the GO-Smart card holders, though it is not available currently. The Smart card is priced at Rs200, in which Rs100 is refundable, at the time of returning the card. Special tourist cards are also available for Rs200 (for one day) and Rs350 (for 3 days.

Not only in the present times but keeping in mind the growing population of the city, Metro has come to us as a boon. The government seems to have done their part, now it is on the citizens to make sure the metro stays the way it is, and we must pledge to keep it clean.
