After reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday released the date sheet for Class 10 and 12 term-II board exams. The exams are scheduled to commence on April 26. In accordance with the CBSE’s announcement, the board examinations for 2022 will be conducted in two terms. The term-II exams for Class 10 will end on May 24, while for Class 12 students, the papers will end on June 15. In an attempt to allow students to overcome the pandemic, as per the board, the students have been given sufficient preparation time. The board stated, “As the schools were closed due to pandemic which has led to learning losses, therefore, more gap has been given between the two examinations in almost all the subjects in both the classes.”
Since the previous year saw the cancellation of many exams due to clashes with other essential examinations, the board has taken all measures to avoid the same. “The date sheets have been prepared by avoiding nearly 35,000 subject combinations to ensure that no two subject examinations of a student fall on the same date,” it said.

Additionally, last month, the Supreme Court dismissed a plea seeking cancellation of physical exams for Class 10 and 12 to be conducted by all State Boards, CBSE, ICSE and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), saying such petitions give false hope to students and only create more confusion.
