The spread of dengue has intensified in Uttar Pradesh and several districts have reported a stark increase in the number of cases. This Friday, Lucknow recorded 23 fresh cases, bringing the total yearly infections of the vector-borne disease to 817.
Furthermore, the maximum number of dengue cases have been reported in the Chander Nagar and Aliganj areas of the city.
Dengue wards of city hospitals running at full capacity
Out of the 23 cases, 5 cases each were reported in Chander Nagar and Aliganj while both Tudiyaganj and Red Cross areas have reported 4 cases each. The remaining cases were reported in Silver Jubilee, Indira Nagar and Aishbagh areas of Lucknow. Amid the continuous rise in cases, the dengue ward of the Balrampur and Civil hospitals of the city are running at full capacity.
Contributing to mitigation measures, the UP health department deployed a team of malaria and other health specialists who have conducted an in-depth survey of mosquito-breeding conditions in around 2,412 houses of Lucknow. As per the survey, mosquito larvae were found in 10 houses and notices were issued to the house owners.
