An old building collapsed in Lucknow's Hazratganj area on Thursday afternoon. Though a busy street but thanks to lockdown, no casualty is reported yet.
The building housed many commercial shops including Marksmen and Lenskart. On an average around 5000 people can be easily seen in and around this building but due to lockdown, the market was closed and the commercial shops were not operating.
Officials reached the spot on time and sealed off the area. It is said that the building is now over a 100-years old and was in a dilapidated condition since last couple of years.
"No one is injured and no casualty is reported yet," said an official on duty. A detailed report will soon be filed which will highlight the main reason behind the collapse of this building.
The condition of this Hazratganj building clearly highlights the need for renovation of other buildings in Lucknow's commercial hub. Just to recall, in August 2018, the Narang building had collapsed in Hazratganj as well.
