First suspected Mpox case reported; Centre issues nationwide alert
India has recorded its first suspected case of Mpox (monkeypox), identified in a young male patient who recently returned from a country with ongoing virus transmission.
In response, the Union Health Ministry issued an advisory on Monday, urging states and union territories to take precautionary measures and providing information on the symptoms and causes of Mpox.
