Sucker for desi breakfast dates? Head to Indore ka Mashoor Poha, right HERE in Lucknow!

This incredibly modest dish is whipped up with simple ingredients yet it packs a flavour punch like no other.

An essential breakfast item in Indore, Poha topped with sev and roasted peanuts, has its own fan base here in Lucknow as well. When this is coupled with kadak adrak wali chai, then toh kya kehne! This incredibly modest dish is whipped up with simple ingredients yet it packs a flavour punch like no other, when done right. So if you too, are a sucker for Poha and want to taste the best of it, then you can bank on Indore ka Mashoor Poha, right here in the city.

Move over the generic bread-butter morning spread!

Owned by Neeraj Tiwari, you can spot this thela at two places during the course of the day. From 7 AM -10 AM, this kiosk is stationed at Hazratganj, adjacent to Shukla Chaat but after 10 till approximately 4 PM, you can find Tiwari's Poha booth positioned in front of Canara Bank, near Nawal Kishore Road in Hazratganj.

But do not depend on the later hours to grab your share because even before the stipulated closing time, the stall runs out of its speciality because of the massive popularity it has garnered, ensuring rapid demand. Compared to the other Pohas available in Lucknow, you'll definitely see this standing out as it comes sprinkled with homemade masala, anar, besan bhujia and Ratlami sev, amidst other garnishes. For a full plate, you have to shell out a meagre amount of ₹30 but for half of it, you've gotta pay up ₹20 ONLY!

Speaking to us, Neeraj said, "I used to stay in Indore and sell Poha to the locals there. But due to the lockdown, I had to come back to Lucknow and initiate a fresh start. Now, my stall is frequented by locals and tourists alike and they say that I have brought the authentic Indorean flavour with me, which reflects in my dish. I am overwhelmed because I didn't expect Lucknowites to prefer my Poha over the other available options."

Tiwari further added, "Since people are loving my dish, I am also looking at places for a new stall in Gomti Nagar. I have also applied for the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license, which will help me to start home-delivery as well and registering online would definitely mean happier clients, from all over the city."
